Project: DIY scarf blouse

Happy weekend to all! Today, I thought I would share a very easy way to turn a vintage scarf into a lightweight and flowing blouse. What you will need is:

  • a square scarf, in a dimension of 30 in. or larger. (I used a 32x32 in. silk scarf)
  • scissors
  • a sewing machine and basic sewing knowledge

First fold the scarf in half to make a rectangle. Then come in 6 in. from the edge of either side and sew a seam 8 in. long from the bottom up. This gives you the side of the blouse and leaves a space for arm holes. It gave my blouse a bust of 40 in. If you have a different size scarf, or a large bust you may have to adjust how far you come in from the corner. To put the finishing touches on the blouse, center and cut a neck hole and then sew the raw edge under. Your blouse should be finished! Happy wearing!
