One of the things that I always buy when thrift store shopping, whether I need them or not, is embroidered linens. I just can't resist the dainty embroidered designs and they are great for upcycling into all sorts of things. Today, I'm going to show you how to make your own embroidered magnets.
What you will need is:
- a variety of embroidered linens
- wood craft discs
- magnets (smaller than the discs)
- Mod Podge
- Scissors, paintbrush
Take your linens and cut them into circles that are 1/2 in larger on all sides than the wood discs. Liberally brush Mod Podge on the wood discs. Center the disc in the middle of each cut fabric circle and wrap the excess fabric around to the back of the disc, making folds if necessary. Brush on more Mod Podge to hold the fabric in place on the back.
Take your magnets and glue them on the backs of the fabric covered discs, covering any raw fabric edges or wood showing. When they are dry, they are done and ready to hang on your fridge! Enjoy!
