Movie: Band of Outsiders / Bande a Part

Netflix has been recommending quite a few duds lately, so I was very pleased to be introduced to this gem of a movie. I just watched the 1964 film Band of Outsiders/Bande a Part (IMDB, Wikipedia, Netflix) and LOVED it! It captured the impulsiveness, playfulness and foolishness of being young so perfectly. It is about a burglary, but that is only a backdrop to the rebelliousness of youth emphasized for most of the film. And it hands down has the most brilliant synchronized dance sequence EVER! The director Jean-Luc Goddard called it "Alice in Wonderland meets Franz Kafka" and I think that is very fitting. It is teeming with existentialism, but in an exciting way. See below for a few screen shots and my vintage clothing picks if you want to capture the look of the heroine/hero of the movie. Enjoy!

Have you seen the movie and want to recreate the 1960s school girl look of Odile or the trying to be cool and mature noir look of Franz? Here are my vintage picks:
