Project: Two belts into one
I came up with a really good idea for extending the usage of too small belts. I recently thrifted an awesome Navajo inspired tooled leather belt that was only 20 in. long. I loved the tooling too much to let it go, so I decided to make it into a longer belt by combining it with a Mexican cotton sash. It was fairly simple enough, I cut the sash in half and trimmed the ends of the leather belt. Then sewed the sash pieces to each end. The end result is a hip belt that ties in front. This could actually be done with a wide variety of belts and trims or ribbons for different effects. Enjoy!
