A man named John Maloof went to an auction house and for $380, he bought thousands and thousands of undeveloped negatives that had been abandoned in a storage locker by an American woman named Vivian Maier. John started developing the negatives and found a gold mine of beautiful candid photos of American life from the 1950s-1960s. Unfortunately Vivian Maier died only days before John tried reaching out to her to learn more about her. Since then, John has collected her photos and now has a website dedicated to her work, HERE. I love how each of her pictures is a well composed glimpse into that era. I'm posted a few of my favorite shots below, but you really should check out her full website.
