Project: An upcycled duster robe

Today, I'd like to share a rescue project that I just finished. I had a 1930s evening gown that was in bad shape with many holes along the shoulders and had originally been made without a zipper or other type of closure to make it easier to get into. I came up with the clever idea of turning it into a duster robe with bird shaped lace panels. I positioned the bird lace cutouts so that they eliminated all of the holes and opened up the front to make it easy to take on and off. The end result is above. I think it ended up being a brilliant way to save the dress and extend it's wearing, don't you? Enjoy!
