Currently Crushing on 1930s/40s dressing gowns

My latest vintage obsession is 1930s/40s era dressing gowns. Dressing gowns (also called hostess gowns, housecoat and a few other things) were full length maxi dresses made for lounging and entertaining at home. They were made in a variety of fabrics and styles, as you can see above and below. Even though they were not considered "out in public" clothing back in the day, they make gorgeous bohemian maxi dresses when worn today. I've started collecting and wearing them, my meager collection above.

If you want a dressing gown to wear as your own maxi dress, there are some very gorgeous ones below! Enjoy!
